Based in sunny Soho, London town, Martis Media was formed in the summer of 2013. Come meet the team…
RoamingRoyston – to give him his Twitter handle – is an award-winning media and communication professional who takes personal pride in his ability to get a meaningful message across.
Former deputy editor of trade bible Police Review magazine, and highly commended at the Professional Publishers Association awards, Royston has written for all national newspapers and appeared on radio and TV as a policing expert. He has also written a column for the Police Oracle website.
In his spare time he enjoys sport (watching more these days than playing), comedy and music (both watching thankfully), socialising and generally chatting. A lot. Even to his newly suffering daughter.
Royston and the Martis Media team talk to hundreds of thousands of people each and every day on Social Media and in online and hard copy Magazines and Newsletters. Or via Videos and Campaigns. Royston says: “We specialise in getting to know a client’s audience and deciding the best strategy and format to effectively deliver their message. And to interact with that all-important audience.”
Experienced journalist Sarah Ingram worked for five years as a reporter on Police Review magazine where she spent her time travelling the UK looking for the best stories and getting to know the men and women who police the country.
She is now based in the beautiful Cotswolds where she tries to retain her sanity while looking after three small children. Alongside journalism, social media and public relations work, she also works in audiobooks and teaches yoga. She has no hobbies in her spare time because she has no spare time. Erena Laird – Head of Content
Erena worked as Police Review’s chief sub-editor (the person who corrects all the spelling mistakes…) for nine years, and has been working in journalism and magazine editing for 20 years. Erena’s Police Review production team were twice shortlisted for the Press Gazette magazine sub-editing team of the year awards. She’s a self-confessed grammar nerd and loves a good witty headline. As well as social media, Erena also leads on design for all our Ezines, Newsletters and Annual Reports.
Erena lives in southeast London with her husband and two small children and is a Governor at her local primary school. She’s also a running enthusiast, and can often be found getting up at the crack of dawn to go for a run. She has completed two marathons, and is planning more. If you’re fast, you can follow Erena on Twitter @erenalaird
Wendy Thomas – Head of Production
Wendy worked for Police Review magazine for nine years in various roles – from Advertising to Office Manager. During that time she attended many police events and conferences across the UK, meeting officers and gaining an excellent understanding of policing. She leads on planning and coordination on Martis Media projects and on securing Martis Media advertising space.
Now living in Surrey with her husband and two young daughters, life is busy. She carries out voluntary work in her local school, including fundraising and event organising. Being a proud Welsh woman, it’s only natural she is a feisty rugby fan! Follow Wendy on Twitter @WelshWendyT
Natalie Hill – Account Executive
Natalie joined the team from Police Mutual, where she worked in marketing. With a keen interest in all things Social Media, she is looking forward to getting stuck into Martis Media’s varying strands of work.
When she is not discovering her new Soho surroundings, Natalie spends a lot of her spare time enjoying the sights and sounds of the seaside. If she’s not at the beach, you can usually find her on a train roaming the UK, hanging out with her better half, visiting friends back at home in the Midlands or one of her four siblings dotted around the country.

Tracy worked for 13 years in senior sales and managerial roles across various public sector publications and national newspapers, including 6 years on Police Review as Group Commercial Manager. As well as specialising in events and sponsorship for Martis Media’s clients, she also keeps the team updated with what’s going on in the media.
Tracy can often be found in her spare time running or rolling round in the mud at boot camp classes. Rest assured, to balance this she also still loves going out and socialising and is a regular at our events!
We also work with a selection of trusted journalists, photographers, designers, film makers and website developers to offer you the solutions to your communications conundrums!
